[Short Review] 'Happy Death Day' Reinvents The Horror Genre, Taking Shape as a Fun Slasher

Tree Gelbman: Tim, I know you’re really not into girls, but it’s okay. Love is love. Now go out there and get yourself a fine piece of man-ass!

This was pretty fun!

Jessica Rothe actually gives a pretty lovable, hilarious and badass performance, possibly *scream queen worthy*.

By the addition of slasher and teen genre elements to itself, HAPPY DEATH DAY is made to feel more suited for teenage audiences, which is the target audience the film is majorly marketed towards.

It’s really good fun though, and quite an interesting take on the repetition concept, with a more modern and eccentric element added to it.

Score: ★★★½
